I love teaching at Ashley River Creative Arts!  Each day, I see children become excited about learning through our arts-infused curriculum!  Students at Ashely River develop reading, problem solving, and writing skills as they explore science and social studies THROUGH the arts.  On any given day, we may dramatize an escape to freedom and create a landscape, portrait, or still life in the style of artists we study.  Students develop voice in writing as they write about a painting or musical composition from the artist or composer's perspective.  Ashley River gives all students an opportunity to excel, develop skills, and 'shine' through the arts!

Educational Background

This year, I will celebrate my 15th at Ashley River and my 23rd of teaching!   I have a Master's Degree from UVA in Reading Education, a Master in the Art of Teaching from CofC in Early Childhood Education, and am National Board Certified in Early Childhood Education.
I am a Clemson Tiger fan and alumni.

My children, Liz and Jeb, are both graduates of Ashley River.  Liz is 21 and works at Delicious Delights Bakery and participates in HEART a program for adults with special needs.  Jeb is a sophomore in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology at Clemson.  My husband Sam and I have been married for 26 years!
We live in Old Windermere next to the Greenway where we are able  ride bikes and walk to Windermere Shopping Center and Harris Teeter.  We love being minutes away from the city and the harbor where we go to church and enjoy attending plays, art galleries, and concerts.
I love to cook, read, swim, and see our beautiful lowcountry from our boat!
