School Improvement Council

Our School Improvement Council (SIC) meets quarterly. This group, comprised of parents, teachers, administration, and community organizations, looks at the school mission and works to improve school programs and facilities.

Our SIC sponsors our First Friday Arts Initiative. This initiative's purpose is to expose all students to a variety of arts-based careers. Our artists volunteer two hours of their day to showcase their skills and talents, and answer student generated questions about their career. Our students have worked alongside DJ Natty Heavy, cyanotype artist Carson Carroll, and textile artist Erin Barrett.

Our September First Friday Artist was Cynthia Huston. Mrs. Huston is a local oil painter. She shared her talent and time with our students. Mrs. Huston reviewed the materials and tools that she uses to create her work, her artistic process, and answered student questions.
