Our First Friday Artist was local artist Cynthia Huston!

Our First Friday Artist was local artist Cynthia Huston! She is an impressionist oil painter who loves creating en plein air. Students learned about her materials and tools and her artistic process. Our students loved meeting her and being able to ask questions to learn more. “I really like your paintings and you being here. You inspire me to become a painter one day,” said Harper, a third-grade student.

I love how everyone comes together beautifully to form a wonderful community in our school. Everybody plays their part to make our school a symphony. Colors, cultures, and characters mix to make us creative.
Lainey, Fifth Grade

Ashley River Creative Arts is so fun.  We get to have 80 minutes of art and music each week. Coming to this school every day is great because we get a good education for the arts and academics, and we frequently get to do art projects in our classrooms. Our school is special and creative for so many different reasons and that's what makes it so amazing.! -Nya, Fifth Grade
