WUNI

WUNI (the unicorn network) is a student produced daily news show distributed throughout the school to each classroom. The WUNI news team is made up of 12 fifth grade students. These students are selected from interested fifth graders who audition for this program each year. News team members are involved in every aspect of the program including writing, reporting, camera operations and video editing. The program features school news and announcements, birthday book book club, lunch selections, weather, word of the week, and special reports. Reports include teacher profiles, interviews with special visitors, and book talks/book reviews.
Students are also part of the KWN (Kid Witness News), a hands-on video education program developed by Panasonic. Each year students submit a video project for review by Columbia University's School of the Arts Film Division.
