I am a graduate of Clemson University with a Bacholors of Arts plus 18 hours. I am an educator with 21 years of experience. I have instructed grades kindergarten through third grade! Teaching and working with students brings about new adventures each day! Watching students learn while incorporating a variety of arts inside the instuctional curriculum is truly enlightning! I incorporate lots of movement within my classroom. I danced classical ballet for over 18 years. I am honored to share that I was recognized as Charleston County School District Reading Teacher of the Year in 2010-2011.
I originally grew up in Anderson, SC but made Charleston my home in 1999. I am married with two girls and one dog. My husband, Jared, is a telephone engineer. My oldest (whom is my god-daugther), Morgan, is a senior at the College of Charleston. Her major is Secondary Education with a minor in theater! My youngest (whom is my only child), Shea, is a Freshman in College. She is a Nursing student at Trident Technical College in the transfer program to MUSC where she plans to earn her BRN and specialize in high trauma.
We have a toy poodle named, Reo.
I enjoy going to the beach with my favorite book for some quiet time! At home, I relax by spending time gardening in my yard. I really enjoy exercising! It is a great way to relieve stress and maintain a great life style. I am a BARRE and Yoga Group Fitness instructor at Pivotal Fitness in West Ashley. My family and I spend time together by attending plays and doing a variety of outdoor activities. My family and I founded the non-profit organization, Hearts for the Arts.
