I am a graduate of Clemson University with a Bacholors of Arts plus 18 hours.  I am an educator with 21 years of experience.  I have instructed grades kindergarten through third grade!  Teaching and working with students brings about new adventures each day!  Watching students learn while incorporating a variety of arts inside the instuctional curriculum is truly enlightning!  I incorporate lots of movement within my classroom.  I danced classical ballet for over 18 years.  I am honored to share that I was recognized as Charleston County School District Reading Teacher of the Year in 2010-2011.

I originally grew up in Anderson, SC but made Charleston my home in 1999.  I am married with two girls and one dog.  My husband, Jared, is a telephone engineer.  My oldest (whom is my god-daugther), Morgan, is a senior at the College of Charleston.  Her major is Secondary Education with a minor in theater!  My youngest (whom is my only child), Shea, is a Freshman in College. She is a Nursing student at Trident Technical College in the transfer program to MUSC where she plans to earn her BRN and specialize in high trauma.
We have a toy poodle named, Reo.

I enjoy going to the beach with my favorite book for some quiet time!  At home, I relax by spending time gardening in my yard. I really enjoy exercising!  It is  a great way to relieve stress and maintain a great life style. I am a BARRE and Yoga Group Fitness instructor at Pivotal Fitness in West Ashley. My family and I spend time together by attending plays and doing a variety of outdoor activities.  My family and I founded the non-profit organization, Hearts for the Arts.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning!  Thank you for sharing your child with me each day!  I too am excited about how they will grow socially, academically and physically!  Thanks in advance for your cooperation and support!
